On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., we will conduct a planned Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST) test to simulate a network outage and confirm our system recovery process.
What to Expect
Phones at Guelph and Ridgetown campuses will briefly disconnect from the cloud system and automatically register with local SRST gateways.
During this time, only basic calling features will be available: internal extension dialing, PSTN calls, and emergency dialing.
Unavailable during the test: All advanced call processing features like call queues, call trees, call forwards and hunt groups and Voicemails.
Users may notice short service interruptions (up to 10 minutes) while phones re-register.
No user action is required. This test is an important step to ensure reliable phone service during a real network outage. If you have any questions, please contact the CCS Help Centre at uoguel.ph/IThelp
