On Sunday, December 21, from 10:00 pm to 12:00 a.m., CCS will conduct a planned Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST) test to simulate a network outage and confirm our system recovery process.

What to Expect

- Phones at Guelph and Ridgetown campuses will briefly disconnect from the cloud system and automatically register with local SRST gateways.
- Users may notice short service interruptions (up to 10 minutes) while phones re-register between systems.
- During this time, only basic calling features will be available: internal extension dialing, PSTN calls, and emergency dialing.
- Unavailable during the test: Jabber, advanced features like queues, call trees, extension mobility, and hunt groups.

No user action is required.
This test is an important step in validating the reliability of our phone system in the event of a network outage.
