Internet Services are re-established ahead of schedule as of 1 am.
We are still conducting functionality testing, so services may still experience brief outages in the next little while.

Update
Initial configuration and cut-over has been completed. We are now conducting functionality testing to ensure everything works as desired. Internet services remain unavailable.
Maintenance is currently ahead of anticipated schedule.

Update
The scheduled perimeter firewall maintenance is in progress.
Internet services will be unavailable while we are replacing the old models for NextGen appliances.
At this time we expect internet services to be available at approx. 2 am.
Updates will be provided when they become available.

This maintenance has been rescheduled to Saturday Feb 17th, from midnight to 4:30 AM to minimize the impact.

On Saturday Feb 17th, from midnight to 4:30 AM, CCS will perform Tier 1 Maintenance to replace the current campus Internet firewall with a new Next Gen platform. The new hardware will enhance the University’s security posture and will integrate with other appliances that have been, or will be, introduced as part of the multi-year security roadmap initiative.

Due to the nature of the maintenance, a 2 hour interruption of Internet services is expected during this maintenance window. Services such as UoG’s web sites, e-mail, etc. will not be available from off-campus. Users residing on campus will not be able to browse the internet but can access on-campus resources, including services at the CCS Data Center. Telephony services will be available throughout the entire maintenance window.
